Caitlin Nolan

My name is Caitlin Nolan. I am a Detective Senior Constable employed by the NSW Police Force. I work for the State Crime Command’s Central West Child Abuse Squad. Our base is in Bathurst, but we service the entire Central West. The Squad works collaboratively with the Department of Communities and Justice and NSW Health to achieve the best outcomes for our most vulnerable children. My role is to investigate reports of the sexual abuse, serious physical abuse, and neglect of children in our communities. This includes putting offenders before a court where they are answerable to their crimes. Despite the mental and physical toll inherent in this work, I take solace knowing that I have stopped the cycle of abuse for numerous families and have secured convictions that have resulted in lengthy imprisonment periods. In the past 18 months, I have led my team by charging the most offenders. This is evidence of my tenacious, thorough, and professional approach to my duties.

Since December 2022, I have been fortunate enough to lead our Squad as a Supervisor, having been favourably endorsed by my Superintendent. Since then, I have been working with managers from DCJ and Health to enact change in the way we conduct our business to ensure that we are always doing the best we can for our children. I am inspired by the resilience of the children in this community every day. They are the real heroes.
