This competition is a game of skill and will be governed by the Rules contained herein together with the Submission Requirements.

Entry is open to residents (or applicable businesses) from any of these 11 Local Government Areas: Bathurst, Blayney, Cabonne, Cowra, Forbes, Lachlan, Oberon, Orange, Parkes, Weddin, Mid-Western Regional Council areas (the Central West area).

Members of the Mumfest Judging Panel are not eligible to enter this competition or to vote in this competition.

Nominations will open at 11.59pm on Thursday 11 July 2024 and remain open until 11.59pm on Thursday 22 August 2024 (6 weeks).

Entrants must be over 18 years of age. Entrants can either self-nominate or be nominated by a third party. If a third party is nominating and/or making the submission, the submission must include the nominee’s consent to be named in CWM’s promotional material on CWM’s website, e-newsletter and all social media platforms and communications. By entering this competition, the Entrant is warranting and indemnifies CWM, they have obtained the consent of the nominee.

Entrants can enter more than one award category, however only one entry is permitted per entrant for each award category.

Entries are to be made by uploading a submission including supporting documents to the CWM website. All entries will be subject to the Terms of Use (TOU) of the website. Particular attention is drawn to Clause 8 of the TOU regarding material submitted to the website.

Entrants must be a subscriber to CWM.

By entering this competition, an Entrant is indicating his/her acceptance and agreement to be bound by these Rules.

CWM respects the Entrants’ and nominees’ privacy and any personal information provided will be used for the sole purpose of voting in this competition and subject to the Privacy Policy on the CWM website. However, if applicable, finalist nominees may be subjected to, and consent to, an NSW National Police Check.

CWM’s decision regarding all matters to do with the competition will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.

The competition and these Rules will be governed by the laws of New South Wales and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.

This competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Tik Tok or any other Social Network.


The following 7 categories are available for entry in the 2024 Mummy Awards:

  1. Mother of the Year – Entry is open to women in the Central West area.
  2. Business of the Year – Entry is open to any registered business which is trading in the Central West area.
  3. Angel of the Year – Entry is open to male and female volunteers or unpaid workers who reside within the Central West area. An entrant may also have paid employment, but this award is for their volunteer work only.
  4. Hero of the Year – Entry is open to male and female frontline workers and support workers who reside within the Central West area. This can include men and women employed in emergency services such as police, paramedics, firefighters, SES, doctors, nurses, rehabilitation physicians, disability services, aged care services and the like.
  5. Garden of the Year – Entry is open to any residential gardens located within the Central West area.
  6. Educator of the YearEntry is open to male and female educators at all levels of education (early childhood, preschool, primary, senior/secondary and tertiary) who reside within the Central West area.
  7. Outreach Program of the Year – Entry is open to any registered business which is trading in Orange, Dubbo or Bathurst and providing a product or service to smaller rural communities at least two hours from their business location.

  • Commitment to their students
  • Commitment to the teaching profession
  • Original and infectious teaching style

Outreach Program of the Year


  • Service/product is predominantly for women, who would not otherwise be able to access it without travelling for at least 2 hours
  • Preferably supports a charity related to their service or product
  • Preference for product/service to be owned and run by women for women and has unique qualities (not a prerequisite)
  • Initiatives or activities implemented to engage and support the local community

For the avoidance of confusion, these criteria are not the only criteria the submissions will be judged upon. For additional criteria, Entrants must refer to the Submission Requirements.


The Mumfest Judging Panel (the Panel) will be made up of representatives appointed by CWM.

An independent panel for each category will decide on the finalists by 5 September 2024 and finalists will be notified by email. 

A minimum of 3 and maximum of 5 Nominee finalists per category will be announced on 12 September 2024 with public voting also opening on 12 September 2024 and closing on 24 October 2024 (11.59am).

The decisions of the Panel are final and no correspondence will be entered into regarding its decisions.

Submissions, including photos and any scanned documents, of the selected nominees will be published on the CWM website on or around 11 September 2024.

Voting will be open only to CWM subscribers from 11.59pm on Thursday 12 September 2024 to 11.59pm on Thursday 24 October 2024 (6 weeks).

CWM will give a free ticket to the Mummy Awards ceremony to each selected nominee.

Winners in each category will be based on the number of votes each nominee receives on the website, with the final winner of each category being the submission with the highest number of eligible votes.


Winners in each category will be announced at the Mummy Awards event on 16th November 2024 at The Greenhouse of Orange. 

If the winner of a category is not present at the Mummy Awards event to receive the Award their Award will be accepted by the category sponsor on their behalf and the winner will be notified by email within 2 days.

The name, town and a short summary of the submission of each winner will be published in the CWM November e-newsletter following the Mumfest event.

The winners’ names will be published on the CWM website and the winners agree to the use of their name and image in any publicity material.  


1.1  Winners of our 7 categories will each be presented with their Prizes at the Mummy Award ceremony at the Mumfest event. Prizes are generously donated by our Prize Partner VERTO

1.2   At the time of publication of these Terms and Conditions, the Prize for each of our 7 category winners,  are:

  • 1 x Mumfest Trophy (valued at $50)
  • 1 x $100 Beauty/Massage Voucher
  • 1 x $85 Flower Bouquet
  • 1 x $65 bottle of Moet & Chandon Champagne
  • 1x $50 Candle &/or Chocolate Giftbox.

The total prize value is $350 for each category winner.

1.3  CWM is not responsible for inaccurate prize details supplied to any entrant by any third party connected with this competition.

1.4 No cash alternative to the prizes will be offered. The prizes are not transferable. Prizes are subject to availability and CWM reserves the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice.


CWM reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and these Rules without notice in the event of a catastrophe, war, civil or military disturbance, act of God or any actual or anticipated breach of any applicable law or regulation to any other event outside of CWM’s control. Any changes to the competition will be notified to entrants as soon as possible.

To the extent permitted by law, CWM is not responsible or liable for:

inaccurate or incorrect transcription of entry information;

non-receipt of entries for any reason;

problems or technical failures of any kind;

unavailability or inaccessibility of any service or website; unauthorised human intervention in any part of the competition;

electronic or human error;

  1. any expressed or implied comment, viewpoint or expression of an Entrant or Award recipient; or,
  2. any damage or loss (direct or indirect) suffered by reason of any act or omission of CWM, its employees or contractors in relation to entry into this competition or supply of a prize.

Entrants agree not to bring any claim against any of the members of the Panel, CWM or any of the Award Sponsors.
